Seminar on "Yoga and Immunity"

Guest Lecture & Demonstration

On March 11, 2022, a guest lecture on “First Aid” and a demonstration-cum-training on different types of bandages, CPR and other first aid techniques was jointly organised by the NCC Unit and Zoonity Association (Department of Zoology). The resource person was Shri. Sachin Khedekar, Divisional Officer, Maharashtra State Civil Defence Organisation, and who also works as a Treasurer for 'Vande Mataram' Shelter Home for Destitute Men run by Government of Maharashtra. The event was attended by 50 Students.


Following a PPT on first aid, Shri. Khedekar explained how to apply various types of bandages andCPR techniques and the precautions to be taken. Stressing the fact that first aid should save lives, prevent a person’s condition from worsening and should facilitate the person’s recovery, Shri. Khedekar also elaborated on the different types of first aid to administer in different cases such as electric shocks, burns, fractures, snake bites, sprains, dislocations, and eye injuries.


The lecture was well-appreciated by the participants.

Seminar on "Yoga and Immunity"

On April 3, 2022, a seminar on “Yoga and Immunity”was attended by 8 cadets from the Patkar-Varde COY-1, 8 MAH Girls BNNCC, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Organised by Surya Foundation's International Naturopathy Organisation (INO), Mumbai, the event took place at Shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park, Dadar(W), Mumbai, and was presided over by Sadguru Yogiraj Dr. Mangeshda. Dr. Hansa Jayadeva Yogendra, Director, The Yoga Institute, Mumbai, was the Chief Guest and Dr. Ishwar Basavaraddi, Director, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, was the Guest of Honour for the event.


Following warm-up exercises and a Yoga demo, there was a lecture on the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) awareness and the release of a book on Yoga Naturopathy. There were various lectures on the importance of Yoga for general well-being, in acquiring immunity, and in management of stress. Information was also given about the scientific basis of Yoga and a diet plan for a healthy life. The cadets were extremely happy with their experience.
