Since 1996, the Dr. R. R. Ambardekar Lectures are conducted in honour of ex-Principal and ex-Head, Department of Sanskrit, Patkar College, Dr. R. R. Ambardekar.
This year, the Lecture was organised on November 6, 2009. The lecture was delivered by Mrs. Sushama Karnik, ex-Head, Department of English, Patkar College. Her lecture was titled ‘Paatanjal Yogadarshan’ and focussed on the importance of Yoga to relieve the stresses of modern life. The lecture was well-attended and was highly appreciated by the audience.

 LECTURE ON ‘CRIME AND LAW’ ORGANISED BY SOCIOLOGY ASSOCIATION |

The Sociology Association organised a lecture on ‘Crime & Law’ on November 6, 2009. The speakers were Shri. S. H. Patil (Police Inspector, Goregaon Police Station) and Shri. A. Jadhav (ASI, Goregaon Police Station). They spoke on topics such as the functioning of ‘Mohalla Committees’, Careers and Hierarchy in the Police services, Cyber Crime, and security issues such as those related to Ajamal Kasab and Afzal Guru. The officers also touched upon topics such as eve-teasing and sexual harassment which are the matters of serious concern, especially for girl students.
The lecture was well-attended and was highly appreciated by the audience. |
