RAVES 2005 - CAPTURE THE ZEAL

The excitement, the fun, the frolic was all back with the 3 rd edition of Ronny - the Cheetah was metamorphosised into a seer in Raves'05. He was all set to hypnotise the minds of youth of the Mumbai - the Cosmiic way and surely did it so. The Raves'05 committee consisted of a huge number of new comers; nevertheless they were energetic enough to make Raves'05 the biggest success in the series. The Raves'05 committee was headed by Mrs. Beena Mashelkar as the President and Miss Priyanka Mashelkar as the Chairperson.

The chill of winter had set in and Raves, 05 was ready to capture the zeal with a summation of 61 events in fine arts, literary arts, performing arts, sports, informals, star-events and special events which was more than any other festival in the current year. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Raves'05 was an epoch making event of this academic year.

Raves'05 was flagged off on 19 th December, 2005 with the inauguration ceremony by Mr. Shivaji Satam (CID fame) and Mr. Kishor Rangnekar (President of Chikitsak Samuha). Simultaneously myriad events were held, throughout the college campus and whooping 51 colleges participated. The evening was set ablaze by the fashion show and with star studded chief guests such as former Miss World Priyanka Chopra, Vaishali Samant and Sudesh Bhonsle.

The second day - 20 th December, 2005 was comprised of events ranging from elocutions, dance and drama. The contingent leaders of all the colleges waged a war against each other for the gain of the title of "Warlord of Raves'05". It tested the all round personality of the C.L.'s. Snakes and ladders tested the luck and general knowledge of the participants to reach the century mark.

The evening grooved to the mind rocking remixes of the D.J.'s in the Big Bang. The audience went crazy to the beats of the D.J.'s. They craved, rocked and roared as the mixers sent great vibes from their D.J. Machine.

The 3 rd and final day of Raves'05 - 21 st December, 2005 was dedicated to the greatest fun and frolic of all. The Treasure Hunt took the participants on an unknown and a fun filled journey through various pit-stops. The night was shimmering with the guys and gals fighting it out for Mr. and Miss Raves - 05 title in the personality contest. The judges for this event were Mr. Ketan Karande (Runner up Mr. India ) and Miss Pallavi Subhash (Marathi film actress). The folk dances set everyone tapping their feet. Raves'05 truly encompassed the energy of cosmos and many anxious and hardworking moments spent before. Raves'05 has gone by but it was left a vivid mark on the history of the college as one of the greatest achievements and it has surely raised the benchmark of the cultural activities.
