Established
in 1971 and revived in February, 1988, Past Students'
Association is successfully functioning for the
past 17 years. It is conducting various activities
for the present and past students of the college.
It is a registered body, registration No. Bom.
233/71 G.B.B.S.D.
Till date the
association has about 200 life members and many
members on yearly membership.
The association
has conducted various activities like personality
development, public speaking classes, different
competition' essay, debate, elocution, mono-acting
etc. and career guidance lectures for the present
students of the college.
Every year the
association organises Annual Grand Get-together
of the members of the associations which comprises
of entertainment programmes like Orchestra, Drama,
Magic Show, Interviewing our eminent past students
etc.
Since October,
1989, the association is helping Shri Ambika Yoga
Kutir in conducting a four months certificate
course in Yoga, free of charge for the local residents
and students of our college. So far more than
10,000 people have taken
advantage of this activity.
Every year on
23rd January, the association assists
the college to organise a lecture on Science subject
in the memory of the first Principal of our college
Late Prof. A.N. Kothare.
The association
has organised fund raising drives and collected
fund for conducting the above mentioned activities
for the present students.
The association
plans for freeships and scholarships to needy
and deserving students of the college.
In September, 2002, the association
helped the college to conduct fund raising programme
Dandiya Raas. A fund of about 2 lacs was collected
through this programme which was given to “Students
Welfare Fund” of the college.
On
27th and 28th December,
2002 the P.C.P.A. organised a programme called
Cultural Horizon at Goregaon Sports Club premises.
In this programme, folk artists from
Gujarat, Rajasthan, M.P., Maharashtra etc.. participated
in large number.
