Sports

Like the achievements in cultural, dramatics, debate, elocution competitions etc., our students are not behind in Sports Activities. Our students have bagged prizes in various Intercollegiate, Inter-university, State and National level competitions. The list of various sports activities that the students have participate is as follows :

Every year the college organises Intra-collegiate Annual Athletic Meet. Number of students participate in various Athletic Competitions. The winners are given medals and certificates. Best Male Athlete, Best Woman Athlete and Best Sportsman are selected from the winners. Annual Prize Distribution Function is held every year, one in the first term for Academic Prize Winner and one in the second term for Cultural and Prize Winners.

Achievements of our students for the year 2004-05:

CHESS

Our Sr. College students Omkar Gadre, T.Y.B.M.S. and Rai Laxmikant, T.Y.B.Sc. IT reached the 7^th round in Mumbai Vidyapith Chess competition also Jr. College Boys team reached at 5th round. Chaitanya Apte XI Sci. reached in 7^th round in D.S.O. Chess tournament.

WRESTLING

Prashant Shinde XII Science won silver medal and Rahul Mane XI Commerce won Gold Medal in Mumbai upnagar. Rahul Mane got the Silver Medal in Mumbai Division wrestling competition.

BOXING

In Sr. College Adarsh Shetty, T.Y.B.Com. won Gold Medal, Mumbai vidyapith Boxing Competition. He won the Silver medal in Maharashtra state Boxing competition. He also represented Mumbai university for Inter University Boxing competition held at Mumbai (Dombivili). Pranav Redkar, F.Y.B.Sc. won silver medal in Intercollegiate Boxing Competition and was selected for all India University Boxing Competition Camp. Rajesh Vaddi, F.Y.B.A. won silver Medal in Maharashtra State Boxing Competition and Sachin Tambare, XII Arts and Mr. Vaibhav Gawade, XII Commerce won silver medal in Mumbai division. Kiran Tandalekar, XII Arts won gold medal in Mumbai division and he represented Mumbai state Boxing Competition held at Aurangabad .

KABADDI

Sr. College girls reached the pre quarter round in Mumbai Vidyapith Kabbadi tournament. Jr. College Boys team got the runner up place in Mumbai Upnagar Borivili Taluka Kabbadi Tournament.

Ms. Anupanma Patil - F.Y.B.A. All India University Athletic meet at Vijaywada (Andhra Pradesh). Road Race organized by Wilson College , 1^st place 15,000/- cash prize. National Amature Athletic meet at Merath for 1500 mts and 800 mts.

Ms. Deeplai Doyale - XII Commerce 5 k.m. walking state level meet at Mumbai.l National at Merath (I.T.C.)- 5 km walking 5 k.m. walking state level meet Sangli. l National Athletic meet at Pune (D.S.O.)

CROSS COUNTRY

Ms. Anupama Patil - F.Y.B.A. was selected in Mumbai Vidyapith team and she represented Mumbai University for all India University cross country competition held at Gulbarga (Karnataka)

ARCHERY

Mr. Sachin Tambare - XII Science, Mumbai Division (Gold)
Mr. Vaibhav Gawade - XII Commerce, Mumbai Division (Gold)
Both were selected for state Archery competition held at Bhandara.

CRICKET

Sr. College Cricket team got IInd place in Jai Hind college cricket tournament. Jr. College Cricket team reached in 3^rd round in inter collegiate cricket tournament. Deoraj Raut, S.Y.B.Sc. (IT) was selected for Mumbai under 19 team. He also represented west Zone under /19 team for cooch Bihar zonal tournament.

JUDO

Sr. College students Ms. Pramila Rampurkar, T.Y.B.A. got silver medal at intercollegiate Judo Competition and was selected for National Judo Competition camp in Mumbai.

KARATE

Sr. College students Trupti Dudwadkar, F.Y.B.Sc. and Sachin Jalgaonkar, T.Y.B.A. participated in National Black Blet Karate Champion Competition 2004.

CAROM (single)

Anil Yadav, T.Y.B.A. got IInd Place and Mr. Praful Sarode, S.Y.B.A. got IIIrd place in Intercollegiate carrom tournament by Kandivili Education Society.

TAEKWONDO

Mukesh Kamble T.Y.B.Sc. participated in inter state Taekwondo competition and got gold medal.

ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION

The Annual Prize distribution function was held on 10^th January, 2005 in the College Auditorium. Well known TV and Stage Actress, Mrs. Charushila Sable Vacchani was invited as the chief guest. Prizes for sports, Academics, Cultural, N.C.C., N.S.S. and extra curricular activities were distributed.

2000 – 2001

Our college secured First, Second and Third Prize in the Intercollegiate Judo Tournament. Ms. Poonam Erandole (F.Y.B.A.) secured First Prize was selected in Mumbai University Judo Team and she represented Mumbai University in All India University Judo Competition at Hariyana.

Our student Mr. Sachin Kahtavkar (S.Y.B.Com.) reached fourth round in the Intercollegiate Wrestling Competition.

Mr. Mayureshwar Bait (S.Y.B.Com.) secured First Prize (ie. Gold Medal) of Mumbai University Intercollegiate Power Lifting Competition.

Our college participated Intercollegiate Cross –Country Tournament and the Captain of the team Mr. Sachin More (F.Y.B.Com.) got fifth place.

Our college team participated in Mumbai University Intercollegiate Half Marathon Tournament and team leader Mr. Sachin More (F.Y.B.Com.) got seventh place.

Our students Mr. Mohan Balande (S.Y.B.A.) secured Gold Medal in the National Level Karate and Kung-foo Championship.

2001 – 2002

Mr. Mayureshwar Bait (T.Y.B.Com.) secured Gold Medal in the Intercollegiate Power Lifting Competition at university level and state level. He also represented Maharashtra State for All India Power Lifting Competition at Bhopal and got 8th rank.

Ms. Prachi Gore (F.Y.B.A.) secured Silver Medal at Mumbai University Intercollegiate Cross Country. She was selected for Mumbai University Cross-Country Team. She represented Maharashtra State for Athletic Meet Ashwamedh at Shivaji University, Kolhaput and got Silver Medal in 400 meter Race.

In Intercollegiate Judo Competition, Mr. Swetal Ghadigaonkar of S.Y.B.A. got Gold Medal.

In the ascending and descending competition held by Mumbai University, Ms.Prachi Gole of F.Y.B.A. got Gold Medal.

Our college team secured third place in Intercollegiate Kabbaddi Tournament.

2002 – 2003

Mr. Satyam Chalke (T.Y.B.Com.) represented Maharashtra Kho-Kho team at Siliguri – West Bengal.

Ms. Prachi Gole (S.Y.B.A.) represented Maharashtra State for All India Cross-Country Competition at Banarus.

Mr. Adarsh Shetty (F.Y.B.Com.) secured Silver Medal at Mumbai University Boxing Competition.

Mr. Dinesh Jadhav (T.Y.B.A.) secured Bronze Medal at Mumbai University Boxing Competition.
